The below is an incomplete list of various match races (intentional and unintentional) to occur at Belmont Park throughout the years.


10/15/1908: Stamina vs. Whip Top (aka Whiptop) (Hunter Handicap)

09/27/1947: Armed vs. Assault

Originally scheduled for August 30 at Washington Park, the race would be cancelled when Assault would come up lame. Rescheduled for September 27 at Belmont Park, Assault would once again turn up lame again just prior to the race; however, the match would go off as scheduled, with Armed winning by six lengths.
