Chart of the week: The debut of Bull Lea and Menow

On June 9, 1937, Hal Price Headley’s Menow (Pharamond (GB)) and Warren Wright’s Bull Lea (Bull Dog (FR)) faced off in a 5 ½ furlong maiden event at Washington Park. Won by Employer (Black Servant), Menow would finish second by two lengths in the sloppy going, with Bull Lea well back in fifth.
