“WASHINGTON, Nov. 1 (AP) – President Roosevelt got a kick out of Seabiscuit’s victory today over War Admiral. A few minutes late for his press conference, he explained that he had been listening in on the race.
He said he had not, however, heard about the Sunday night broadcast about the attack from Mars. He first knew about that and the excitement it caused the next morning.”
