The people have spoken

As part of a regular poll on 05/02/1950, Gallup asked 1,339 American adults: “Do you think the government in Washington should or should not allow the use of telephone and telegraph wires in sending information on horse racing for gamblers or bettors?”

The people were emphatically against.
