Gallant Fox and the Belmont Stakes

Gallant Fox won the 1930 Belmont Stakes on his way to taking the Triple Crown. In the stud, he would immediately sire Belmont/Triple Crown winner Omaha (1935) and Belmont winner Granville (1936), but would then disappear from the pedigrees of Belmont winners for the next forty years, when he would reemerge for a swan song in the unrelated pedigrees of Little Current (1974) and Affirmed (1978).
